Shaun Whitehead is a dedicated public servant and community advocate, currently serving as the Mayor Pro Tem of Oak Park, Michigan. With a strong passion for enhancing the quality of life for residents and fostering community growth, Shaun has made it his mission to bring positive change to his hometown.
Shaun is a proud graduate of Shrine High School, Michigan State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree, before going on to earn his law degree from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of both the Michigan and Ohio Bar, bringing his legal expertise and problem-solving skills to his work in local government.
Having spent much of his life in Oak Park, Shaun has an in-depth understanding of the local community and its needs. Shaun is deeply committed to fostering inclusivity and transparency within the local government. Proud to led the effort for Oak Park's Juneteenth Celebration and Oak Park Father of the Year Awards. As Mayor Pro Tem, he plays a vital role in shaping key policies that impact education, public safety, and economic growth.. In addition to his work on the city council, Shaun has been a vocal advocate for youth programs, neighborhood revitalization, and environmental sustainability.
Shaun is happily married to his caring wife, Margaret, and is a proud father of two energetic twin boys. He enjoys coaching basketball. Family is at the heart of his life, and he is committed to ensuring that Oak Park remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family for years to come.
